On Saturday afternoon, 4th October 2025, between 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm, Diane discovered just how important a strong bike lock can be.
"I love my bike and my lock!"
Diane had her Specialised COMO 3.0 IGH electric bike, valued at around £2250, with her for a routine outing. After having new tyres fitted, she stopped for lunch and a little shopping at Marks and Spencer in Charlton.
Diane parked the e-bike at the cycle locking station outside the store, securing it solely with the LITELOK X3.
“It's hard to be 100% sure, but I am pretty sure that someone had a go at my bike lock today. If so, the bike lock won...hands down!”
Looking at the photos Diane sent, it seems the thief tried their luck with a pair of bolt croppers, but the X3 didn’t give in.

"When I came out and took the lock off, I immediately noticed the surface damage. The bike also has a couple of paint chips in the place where the lock was. I don't know if other bikes were taken / disturbed."
Diane reached out to M&S about checking CCTV footage, but they confirmed they can only release it to the police. Diane is now considering contacting a bike theft prevention team to get a closer look at what happened.
While bike theft attempts can happen anywhere, a reliable, strong, and easy-to-use lock like the LITELOK X3 can make all the difference. Diane’s bike could have been gone in minutes, but instead, the X3 stood firm, saving her £2250 investment.
